Creativity, Communication & Career Skills – Learning Beyond the Classroom
Monday, 13 July 2026
Greetings from The Fabindia School!
Every week brings new opportunities for our students to explore, imagine, create, and learn beyond the pages of their textbooks. Our Saturday Class Activities are specially designed to nurture creativity, communication, critical thinking, and life skills while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.
This Saturday was filled with exciting classroom activities across all sections of the school, where every student participated with enthusiasm and showcased their unique talents.
 Pre-Primary Section - Water Boat
Activity: The Oldest Water Transport – Boat
In the second week of July, the Pre-Primary Wing introduced the theme "The Oldest Water Transport – Boat." Students enthusiastically participated in a fun and creative activity based on this theme.
The children of LKG, UKG, and Grade I made beautiful paper boats using the paper-folding technique, enhancing their creativity and fine motor skills. Meanwhile, the Nursery children enjoyed tearing coloured paper and pasting the pieces to decorate a boat, developing their hand-eye coordination and creativity.
The activity was both enjoyable and educational, helping children learn about one of the oldest means of water transport through hands-on experience.
🎨 Primary Section – Designing a City Postcard
Our young learners stepped into the shoes of creative travellers through Designing a City Postcard activity.
Students beautifully designed their own postcards using colours, sketches, and creative ideas. They then imagined visiting a city and wrote a heartfelt message to a friend, sharing their experiences, favourite places, and memorable moments.
This enjoyable activity helped students:
  • Develop creative writing skills.
  • Improve sentence formation and vocabulary.
  • Express their thoughts through art and words.
  • Learn the format of postcard writing.
  • Enhance imagination and presentation skills.
The colourful postcards reflected the wonderful creativity and imagination of our budding writers and artists.
✍️ Middle Section – Autobiography of an Object
Middle school students participated in a unique and imaginative writing activity titled "Autobiography of an Object."
Students observed everyday classroom objects such as a chair, pencil, notebook, blackboard, school bag, water bottle, chalk, and ruler. They then imagined themselves as that object and wrote its autobiography in the first person.
The activity encouraged students to think creatively and develop empathy while strengthening their writing skills.
Students enhanced:
  • Creative and imaginative thinking.
  • Narrative writing skills.
  • Vocabulary and sentence construction.
  • Observation and expression.
  • Confidence in presenting original ideas.
Each autobiography gave a new voice to ordinary classroom objects, making the activity both educational and entertaining.
📄 Senior Section – Resume Drafting Activity
Preparing students for the future is one of our key objectives.
Senior students participated in a Resume Drafting Activity, where they were first introduced to the essential components of a professional resume. Using the given key points, they designed and wrote their own resumes using pen and paper.
The activity focused on helping students understand how to present their achievements, educational qualifications, skills, strengths, and career objectives in a professional manner.
Students learned:
  • The importance of a well-structured resume.
  • Professional presentation skills.
  • Organising personal and academic information.
  • Self-assessment and confidence building.
  • Career readiness and communication skills.
The resumes reflected thoughtful planning, neat presentation, and a growing awareness of professional expectations.
