ANNUAL DAY SPECIAL
Weather
Bali is getting colder by the day. Winter has stepped in. Students have begun to wear sweaters. Days are sunny with 28°C to 30°C temperature. Difference in day and night temperature is increasing with lowest falling to 8°C. During the week it was mostly clear. The School hygrometer showed humidity at 18%. Wind direction was from N to NE at 10 km/hr.

The School celebrated its 22nd Annual Day on Friday, 21st November. Congratulations to students and staff for putting up such a successful presentation both for the Exhibition 2014 and the cultural program.
Skills
Monday, 17th November to Wednesday, 19th November: Annual Day practices took place. Students were over occupied with putting up exhibitions of their respective departments.

Thursday, 20th November: Participants were called to school at 2:30 pm. Grand rehearsal took place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Friday, 21st November: School celebrated its 22nd Annual Day. The Board Members, Chief Guest and LMC members arrived at 4:00 pm for High Tea hosted by School, followed by the inauguration of the Annual Day Exhibitions by Ms Kanchan Khandke, Chief Guest.

In order to appreciate contributions of various people, who have quietly helped the school over the years, this Annual Day, the School decided to honour them by christening the existing blocks with their names on a wooden plaque at the entrance of the block:

BLOCK III: Surana Block
BLOCK IV: Hendon Chubb Science Block
BLOCK V: Learning Resource Centre
BLOCK VI: Mathew Horvitz Block

ART SCHOOL (HUT): Monsoon Art School

Four Honour Boards have been installed to recognise the winners of the a annual Trophies of Excellence in Service, Skill, Sport and Study. These boards are displayed at the entrance of the John L. Bissell Block.
EXHIBITIONS:
BLOCK I housed Junior School and Art and Craft Exhibitions.
BLOCK II housed Photography Club and Social Studies Department.
BLOCK III housed Department of Languages and Math Department.
BLOCK IV housed Science Labs.
BLOCK V Learning Resource Centre housed Computer Department.
Chief Guest Ms. Kanchan Khandke, Principal Mayo College Girls’ School, went around the exhibition at great length, asking students innumerable questions related to their models, material used and information collected.

Mr. Samik Ghosh, Principal The Scindia School, presided over the Cultural Show, that included a musical, an English play and a Hindi play. In his speech Mr Ghosh elaborated upon ideas to spread the good work that the school is doing. He held the School Exhibitions in great esteem, keeping in mind the detailed models made by students.

A big thank you to Ms Khandke and Mr Ghosh for the great effort in coming all the way to Bali and joining us for our Annual Day!

Saturday, 22nd November: The School observed a holiday, the Staff returned to look after exhibitions. BAT Board Meeting was held in the Library from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This was followed by lunch in the honour of the Board Members and guests, at the Principal’s Garden behind the school office.
Studies
Thursday, 20th November: Students of Class IX to XII appeared for the Problem Solving Assessment from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
Campus Development Update 
The old stage has been transformed into a new Open Air Theatre, the stage will be used by the students for the morning assembly,  all events and competitions will take place on this new stage,  it will also be used as a pavilion for the students when the Sports activities like the Cricket Matches, Football matches, etc, are organized. We keenly look forward to stage the Christmas Play at the OAT (Open Air Theatre).

Some other highlights:
  • At the back of the Admin Block the area has been cleared and leveled; a new wall has come up beside the Book Store to bring privacy to the area behind Principal’s office. Staff will have their lunch in this area.
  • Maximum and Minimum Thermometers and Hydrometer have been mounted on the  office wall to measure temperature and humidity.
  • Twenty Nine new display boards have been hung in the classes, so that teachers can display the students work on the board and not on the walls.
  • Flag Stands have been made for the Investiture Ceremony.
  • The flower beds, the garden and the entire campus have been spruced up.
